Keighley RUFC are saddened to report the death of Stanley Peckover at the age of 95.

Stanley had a fall in his garden some 3 weeks ago and apparently hit his head on some stone steps and so was taken to Leeds General Infirmary. His daughter happened to be staying with him at the time. Sadly he did not recover and passed away last Friday 9th July.

He will be sadly missed by all his friends at KRUFC. He was a working member of the Wednesday morning gang until a few years ago and was well known for his litter picking with his bucket and grab stick. He was also a skilled wood worker and mended several objects at the club. He also came to the club on a Friday night as part of the domino gang.

In his early days he was a member of the theatrical group at Ingrow St John's Church playing various parts in the pantomimes written by Geoffrey Rundle and Keith Marsden.

The club extend their deepest sympathies to his daughter and family. Rest in peace Stanley and rise in glory.
