New Look Under 12's Rally @ Huddersfield

A new look Keighley side travelled to Huddersfield to play their first game of the 2010/11 Season in torrential rain.

Keighley were fielding three new players in their back division and Huddersfield quickly capitalised on Keighley’s lack of experience scoring four tries in the first 15 minutes, three of which they converted.

Keighley showed great character and started to dominate in the forwards, they tried to move the ball wide, but good tackling from Huddersfield denied them a score before half-time.

The Keighley forwards capitalised on their dominance and repeatedly turned over ball at the ruck and maul, as well as driving Huddersfield backwards in the scrums. Keighley forced the penalty and kicked accurately to the corner. They secured good quality ball at the lineout and secured the try.

By now the new back division were playing as an effective unit and continued to pressure Huddersfield, but frustratingly they could not quite convert this into points. This was an impressive forward display, and the new players showed their future potential as they continue to gain more experience.
