Keighley 29 – 19 Roundhegians

The opening match saw Keighley take on a Roundhegianside fielding several large Forwards, but Keighley showed Roundhegians the quality of their back line when Keighley ran back Roundhegians kick-off for Cameron Bealey Kay to score beneath the post for a converted try in the first minute.

Keighley continued to run the ball and Liam King scored a well worked try on 5minutes. Roundhegians showed they were determined and put Keighley under pressure by two converted tries after 9 and 11 minutes to take the lead. It was now the turn of Keighley to show their resolve and they worked hard with Kaleb shaw, Billy Todd, McKenzie Kirkland and Louis Holmes taking the game to Roundhegians, before releasing Matty Storton to weave through to give Keighley a 17 -10 lead at half time.

In repetition of the first half Bealey Kay scored from the first play when Jonny Tanner caught the high ball and released Ryan Vero to run it wide and send his fellow centre clear. The game settled in to the Keighley forwards dominating play with Joe Emmott and Elliott Rothery working hard at the breakdowns and flanker Dom Dobson showing his pace to create opportunities. Roundhegions tackled well, but Ryan Vero burst clear to score his first try of the day.

Roundhegians scored late on but by then Keighley were out of reach.
