Keighley / Ilkley repell the invaders

Keighley travelled into Wharfedale where they joined forces with a depleted Ilkley side to take on a touring team from Derby RUFC.The game which was played in 3 twenty minute periods started well for the tourists as they showed no signs of their Saturday game and a night in Haworth as they rushed into a 19-0 lead. The 2nd period saw the Kly/Ilkley pack with Elliott Barker (#8) leading by example take control and some strong takling by the threequater division led by Ben Say (#15) nulled the Derby efforts and the combined 15 run out worthy winners by 33-19 in a very competative encounter.So it was off to the refreshment room for the speaches and few tour songs by the visitors before they departed fancy dress and all back down the M1 having enjoyed some cracking Yorkshire hospitality.
