Michael's brother David writes:
Funeral Service: Friday 12th December; 14:20hrs at Peel Green Crematorium, 716 Liverpool Road, Eccles, Manchester M30 7LW. Further information below.
Please gather from 2:00pm for service which starts at 2:20pm. No black clothes . Please wear bright colours or rugby shirts. Afterwards at De La Salle Sports & Social Club, Lancaster Road, Salford M6 8AQ

A gathering to celebrate Michael's life will be held in December (date to be confirmed) at River location, Saltaire and afterwards at The Salt Cellar, 199 Bingley Road, Saltaire, Shipley, BD18 4DH.

The club have just learnt that Michael died on the night of 9/10th October 2021. Details below.
Michael was born and raised in Riddlesden and was an excellent back row player for KRUFC in the late 70s early 80s period before moving on to play for Bradford.
In 1981, he was part of the Keighley team which won the Bradford Metropolitan 7-a-side Competition.
He had worked in a school in Bradford with John Gaffney & Sam Griffin. He later relocated to Manchester and played for De La Sale RUFC

He was believed to be 63 years old. He lived in Salford and had been seen at 10pm on the Saturday night walking his dogs and was tragically found dead at the bottom of a flight of stairs at this home the following day. Ha had had a catastrophic spinal injury.
He lived alone in Salford and leaves a 13 year-old daughter and a son in his thirties.
