Keighley managed to field probably their best team of the season. It certainly paid off with an emphatic victory over North Yorkshire team Ripon.

In the first thirty minutes the visitors were penned into their own half and were forced to endure some enterprising attacking rugby. Superb interplay between forwards and backs overwhelmed the Ripon defence leading to three well taken tries by outstanding number eight Josh Hannah and one for centre Adam Horsfall, Danny McGee added two conversions.

Ripon eventfully managed to gain a foothold in Keighley territory and some crisp handling allowed powerful winger Joe Mypana to force his way over in the corner. Keighley through high intensity forward power tore the Ripon defence to shreds leading to tries for forwards Leigh Sugden and Will Armitage. First team debutant winger Nick Holroyd added a try in the corner; Danny McGee once again added two conversions.

Ripon in the second half unable to fully compete up front used their big number eight Stead in the backline, which lead to difficulties for the Keighley defence and a second try for winger Mypana and two for rangy full back Joe Duffield, one of which was a seventy metre solo effort, scrum half Bob Whitaker landed three conversions. Keighley weathered the Ripon resurgence and began to regain forward control, which gave their backs quality possession and a try in the corner for winger Ben Atkinson.

Danny McGee added to his tally with a penalty. Near their own line Ripon were guilty of some sloppy play at a line out which gave number eight Hannah the chance to dive onto a loose ball to score his fourth try. Ripon not to be outdone raised the tempo of their game and some really skilled play gave centres Mark Spellman and Tom Newby their chance to score, Whittaker landed one of the conversions.

As full time beckoned Keighley centre Adam Horsfall broke through a tired defence to finish the try fest, McGee Kicked the conversion.
