The visitors started well with an early penalty for centre Danny McGee. West Park then gained good field position, and from a line out drive captain John Fletcher was driven over. West Park playing confidently managed to absorb a number of Keighley plays. Eventually they gained control of the ball, and some good handling skills stretched the Keighley defence giving winger Alistair Booth an easy run in, converted by full back Simon Towler. Towards the end of the half John Fletcher got his second try from another well worked lineout drive.
In the second half, once again Keighley started well with some strong runs by number eight Josh Hannah, and centre Adam Horsfall. However their frailties were exposed when a scrum was shunted over the line, the referee awarding a penalty try, converted by Towler.
Any chance Keighley had of a recovery were dashed when their scrum half David Needham was seriously injured as a result of foul play, although the guilty player was red carded Keighley lost a player for retaliation.
Keighley battled on but miss handling and poor defence gifted tries for winger Harry Ibe and replacement Jake Duxbury, both converted by full back Towler.
