Game 5 - Keighley v Aireborough
Barring a succession of 6-0 white-washes in other games from YMCA or Aireborough, Keighley went into their final game with the tournament already won and they started with a different format after resting several key players.
It was however a game to forget for Keighley. From the moment they conceded the first try they appeared to lose all shape and forgot the key basics for defending and movement and from then on it was a struggle to regain momentum.
Key players for Keighley in the game were Austin Flaherty who showed great determination at the maul, Jack Rodbourne strong as ever going forward and Tom Richardson who showed some excellent tackling throughout.
Final Score Keighley 0 Tries (0 points) - Aireborough 2 Tries (10 points)

“We came into our Home Tournament with high expectation after good wins against Ripon and Wensleydale last week and our Under 10’s played today with 100% commitment, determination and passion and executed the core skills extremely well. All players without exception, played to their potential and have proved to their Coaches and watching parents how they have developed this season” said Coach Steve Welch. “The passion showed most after the last game when they were all so upset, not only because they lost the game, but that for the first time in any match this season, they failed to score at least one try” he added. “We recycled the ball from the scrum really quickly and our cross-field passing was some of the best it’s been all year and we know there are always things to work on, however, on this occasion, we have nothing but praise for the entire squad” he concluded.
