A mature performance gave Keighley a Narrow 0 - 5 victory.

Remembrance Sunday saw both teams observe a respectful silence before the start of the days action.

Keighley got the match underway and instantly exerted pressure with the back line pressing and Jack Mchugh making the tackle.
Selby won a scrum and then a further penalty which was thumped into touch just short of halfway.

The match settled into a midfield pattern, scrum, drive, tackle, turnover, maul, ruck, penalty.
Acts of bravery skill and commitment were too numerous to mention reminiscent of the heroes honoured in the pregame silence.

Keighley had the lions share of possession and territory but resolute Selby defence held them out.
Selby attacks were similarly quashed with a dogged layered defence.

Comments from the Keighley coaches best describe the mornings efforts:

Allan Hobson Sherriff: 'Today's victory came down to two words,"resolute defence".
With a masterful display of teamwork in defence, we held out a strong well drilled Selby team for the whole game.

Nigel Curr: 'Fantastic effort by the boys. We took the only clear scoring opportunity we got in the game, but I do think that we were only one or two passes away from scoring two or three more.'

Graham Field: 'A closely fought and evenly matched battle settled by a moment of individual brilliance by Keighley's No. 8 Leon Hobson-Sheriff picking off the back of a strong scrum, powering through the Selby defensive line to score with 8 minutes remaining
Keighley, playing their best defensive game of the season so far, fully deserved their win against a competitive Selby Squad and rightfully look forward to the challenge of Round 3.'

Captains Comment: 'I thought our 1 up tackles were good but what made it better was if someone missed a tackle another player would come through and make the cover tackle. In attack we were just lacking some support to help others who made breaks but over all a great game from the team.' Ethan Lawrie

Head Coaches Comment: 'Fantastic result owing to wholehearted team performance based on efficient and robust defence.
Both teams worked really hard and showed a great desire and commitment for their team.
Very pleasing to reflect on the game and not being able to identify a clear stand out player; it was such a great team performance. Steve Welch
