Keighley triumph in bruising 19 - 15 encounter.

Keighley took to the field giving away height and weight in every position as the teams lined up for the kick off.

Keighley got the match underway with a high testing kick were and were rewarded with a scrum as the ball was knocked on in the tackle by the returning Dinnington player.
Leon Hobson-Sheriff received the ball and made a 20m break towards the Dinnington line.
The ball was lost in the tackle and then knocked on by the visitors.
Keighley lost possession in the following scrum and scrambled in defence.
A fine smother tackle by Luis Spragg was not enough to stop Dinnington scoring out wide.
The conversion attempt dropped short.

Dinnington pressed forward from the restart and the Referee judged a pass to have gone forward.
The larger pack contested the scrum well and Keighley lost the ball.
A quickly taken penalty from a Keighley infringement and Dinnington crossed again on the opposite side.
The width of the pitch was too much for the conversion attempt and it dropped well short.

Keighley returned to the halfway heads high, looking to redeem earlier slips.
Crunching tackles and powerful drives followed.
Nico Mori leading by example ploughed into the Dinnington defence.
The ball was fed to Leon Hobson-Sheriff who with a show of speed and strength left the Dinnington defence startled as he crossed their line to score.
Lennon Curr made sure of the conversion for the extra points.

Dinnington were robust from the restart, powerfully driving Keighley back, dominating a scrum and driving over the line for another try.
Once again the conversion attempt dropped short.

Once again Keighley approached the restart with willful strides.
A blistering 30m break from Aaron Wilson and eager support from the dogged Keighley pack drove Dinnington from the ball.
A quick popped pass and Leon Hobson-Sherrif threw an outrageous dummy and left the Dinnington defence dazed and confused as he cruised across the line to score.
Ethan Lawries conversion attempt narrowly missed.

12 - 15

Halftime

The teams lined up for the restart, Keighley looking undaunted and purposeful.
The aspect of the game altered in the second half as Keighley started to take the game to the Dinnington squad.

Dinnington started to waver as they were put to the test by successive Keighley attacks.
A kick and chase from Ethan Lawrie resulted in a Keighley scrum and only a handling error stopped the Keighley backs from crossing the line.
Keighley gained confidence in all areas, winning scrums and forcing Dinnington to concede penaltys in the contact.

A Lennon Curr attempt at goal from a penalty for hands in the ruck was pushed wide and returned by Dinnington to the halfway line.
Keighley regained the ball as Dinnington went off their feet.
Jack Rodbourne made a storming run and presented the ball well before overeager hands knocked on.
Frustrations were voiced and the referee cautioned the Keighley players to maintain discipline.
Jack McHugh received a heavy blow in the tackle and left the field.

The defiant Keighley pack seemed to relish the contest and won the scrum with apparent ease and the ball whistled along the back line, James Field crossing the line for a well worked try.
Ethan Lawrie slotted the ball between the uprights for the extra points.

19 - 15

Passion and tempers ran high as Dinnington struggled to cope with Keighleys unyielding play.
A high ball and elusive return by Joel Waddington caused words to be exchanged, the referee stepping in and awarding a Dinnington scrum, the last play of the game.
Dinnington secured the ball and drove towards the Keighley 22m.
A shattering tackle from Ethan Lawrie sent the ball tumbling forward from the Dinnington man and the Referee blew for full time.

19 - 15
